Hey Jazzers -
We only have 4 rehearsals to put Sing Sing Sing together! I've broken the song down into sections to practice. We need to average about 3-4 sections a rehearsal so I need you to PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and do it slowly and then build up tempo. Don't start fast - GO SLOW!
Section 1 - ms 9-36
2 - ms 36-57
3 - ms 60-84
4 - ms 84-104
5 - ms 120-136
6 - ms 144-160
7 - ms 160-176
8 - ms 193-213
9 - ms 213 - end
If you really look at the parts, it's not that hard so don't get intimidated.
If you have any problems, let me know.
Thanks!
Happy Practicing!

ATTENTION JAZZIO'S
JAZZIO'S -
I need you at EVERY rehearsal from now until May 18th.
Here's why: We have some guest musicians coming into play with us and it's crucial that we are prepared for when they come so all we have to do is put parts together. Fiddleback will be coming in around May 7th to work on Sing Sing Sing and a couple of other tunes with us. BE PREPARED FOR SING SING SING!!!!
April 9th rehearsal - we will be playing SING, BUGLER'S and BOSSA. On Spring concert (4/22) we will be playing Buglers and Bossa. We might POSSIBLY do Blue Rhythmico but I will let you know later.
April 16th rehearsal will be the same.
BUGLER soloists - HAVE YOUR MUSIC WITH YOU AND BE PREPARED!!!! or I will pull that song!
Sing Sing Sing is going to be tedious but I think we can do it! It will be fun if we know our parts.

ATTENTION 6th GRADERS!!!!
We are going to do Practice Logs a little bit differently next week.
From now on we are going to do "Practice Journals". Here's what I need to see in your journal:
Tell me the following using complete sentences, correct grammar, etc.:
1. How long did you practice for the entire week?
2. What spots did you practice in your music? Did you practice out of your yellow book too?
3. What did you focus on? Notes? Rhythms? Chunks on the music map?
4. What gave you trouble? What were you able to fix? How did you fix it?
5. Are you able to play your music better now than before you practiced?
Just use regular notebook paper for your journal. You only need to write one paragraph, 2 at the most.
BUT you still need your PARENTS' SIGNATURE!!! in order to get credit.
First one is DUE Feb. 23rd!!!!!
